The magic of green reactivity was in evidence in Glenvera again this week.
Those who have been growing in centres during the summer may want to improve their knowledge and skill (when to plant, weed thin & harvest) and Anita's FREE "Growing Conversations" course which is starting now would be a great source of green creativity know-how. Transportation will be orgranised if needed. Full details on this website at this link >/-

Another planter has been added in Glenvera - making 3 now and more opportunity for green fingered creativity amongst the residents. Contact BRIJ if you want to start growing in the planters. Thanks to BRIJ Volunteers Maria & Veronica for their work in making this happen. A special thanks also to Nabil who has helped with the assembly & the planting and also to Veronica for the pictures.

We are delighted to have Everlyne Sally's description of her experience as an asylum seeker during COVID19 Lockdown in Ireland. It's been especially difficult for all, espcially those in Direct Provision centres and a special thanks is due to Everlyne Sally for taking time to  share this with us. (NB - Please allow time for the document with the text in it to load below here - it seems to load slow on mobile devices)

Our website does not do justice to Nermin's exquisite painting that would be at home in any of the major Gallery's of the world. It reminds me of John Spillane's "Dance of the Cherry Trees"

Amanda Gorman is also not part of our BRIJ Community but her appearance at President Joe Biden's inauguration on 20th January last, was inspiring as she recited her own creative marvel "The Hill We Climb". Amanda is the United States' first-ever youth poet laureate.

19th Jan 2021
Tolü Makay is not part of our BRIJ Community but her appearance on RTE television on New Year's Eve last signing the Saw Doctors "N17" with the RTE concert Orchestra is definitely worth a mention for its creative marvel. The song has meaning for anyone from anywhere who has left home to go to another country. Tolü's rendition is exceptional and it gives much hope for what can be a much better multicultural Ireland of 2021. If you haven't already, please have a listen and enjoy.
