Access to COVID-19 Enhanced Illness Benefit and the Pandemic Unemployment Payment for people in Direct Provision
Any worker (including non-nationals) can get Enhanced Illness Benefit from day 1 if they need to self-isolate. Social Protection Minister, Heather Humphreys TD, has today reassured workers who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or certified by a medical doctor to self-isolate because they are a probable source of COVID-19, that her department’s Enhanced Illness Benefit payment is available to them.

Applies to those who were employed up to 13th March & lost their job because of the Pandemic and are not in receipt of support from the employer!

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE Pandemic Unemployment Payment has now been extended to people living in Direct Provision after they were originally excluded from the scheme.
