Friday evening 23 September is Culture Night in Cork – free entertainment! Thanks to BRIJ Volunteer Veronica for the following information - There’s music all over Cork, and dancing, drumming, puppets, face painting, cabaret, drama, singing, song-writing, games, films, origami, circus... You can meet artists and writers and swimmers, wood carvers and candle makers, people showcasing other cultures; you can explore loads of places that aren’t usually open; you can hop on a Culture Bus... Many places are having an Open Night (e.g. Benchspace, T12 KRH7 galleries, houses). T12 X70A Depositions Poetry Launch Special event in our Conference Space, the launch of Depositions, a book of poetry by Anton Floyd addressing the theme of the refugee crisis and population displacement, with translations of selections into 20 languages. Includes readings, a film and a welcome from the UNHCR and music from The Lost Gecko, Gavin Loesberg and Orla Smith-Loesberg, Kiruu (please note this is not a drop in event, if you wish to attend you need to arrive for 7pm and stay until 8.30pm).
