Super 6 Cricket Tournament for Residents of Cork Direct Provision Centres - Friday 24th September

Cricket Ireland, Munster Cricket and Cork Sports Partnership are inviting you to submit a team to participate in the upcoming Cricket Connects: Super 6 tournament on Friday 24th September at Cork Harlequins Cricket Club. This tournament is being hosted specifically for residents of Direct Provision and we would love for you to be part of it. Details and event schedule are below.

Date: Friday 24th September 2021

Location: Cork Harlequins Cricket Club, Farmers Cross, Cork

Time Schedule:

10.00 – 10.30: Teams Arrive

11.00: Tournament Begins

14.00: Tournament Ends

14.10: Presentations

14.30: Teams Disperse

Format: 6-a-side tapeball (6 players per team, 6 overs each)

Team Numbers: Minimum 6 players per team with a maximum of 8 per team. Note: Registered players ONLY may attend this tournament

Number of Teams: A maximum of 2 teams may participate from your Accommodation Centre

Players: Players must be over the age of 18 to participate in this tournament

Equipment: Bats, balls, stumps and bails will be provided per team strictly adhering to COVID regulations. Please feel free to bring your own bats, gloves, helmets, pads etc.

Transport: We will be providing an option for pick-up and drop-off for your team from your Accommodation Centre. If you wish to avail of this option, please let us know how many teams you are intending to participate in this tournament by Sunday 19th September at 12.00

Lunch: A complimentary Halal lunch will be provided to all participants

Competition Entry: Please submit the attached Entry Form (one submission per Accommodation Centre) by Sunday 19th September at 12.00 to programmes@cricketireland.ie

COVID Regulations: This tournament will be run in line with current government COVID regulations in place. Participants intending to avail of the transport option must wear masks at all times on the bus and remain seated throughout the journey. While at the venue, players must wear masks if entering the indoor facilities to use the bathroom and if requested to do so by event staff. Participants must register in advance of the tournament in line with the above, anyone who has not registered in advance as part of a team will not be permitted entry.
