The Government yesterday launched the "Community Call" initiative to coordinate the efforts of volunteer groups which intend to support vulnerable people and the community in general during the COVID19 crisis. Being in a Direct Provision centre is harder now than ever before, but there is no need to feel helpless or without a means to contribute to Ireland's efforts to beat the Virus, you too CAN VOLUNTEER. As well as helping by keeping your own room and common spaces in the Direct Provision Centre clean, you can also help by volunteering in the community. By volunteering, you are focusing your mind on other things, making the day pass more quickly, giving yourself something positive to do whilst volunteering and, most likely, making yourself feel better. Some of you have already signed up for volunteering. We will provide more details of how you can Volunteer for "Community Call" as soon as we have them, however in the meantime you can keep an eye on the Volunteering Ireland website, submit your name there and see if anything you can volunteer for appears. You can also just send your details by email to the Cork Volunteer Centre: Email: info@volunteercork.ie Click on the Image below to get more information
